Hideaway Beach Club was the venue Tuesday evening, December 6th, for Marco Bay Yacht Club’s 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Party.  Sixty-one members of the club enjoyed the evening.  We were joined by three young representatives of the U.S. Marine Corps presently stationed in Naples and two of their significant others.  At the end of the evening Commodore Brent Cook presented them with toys and games of all kinds as well as almost $1500 in cash donations.  Our members and their guests who attended brought gifts or donations, some bringing multiples, and many who couldn’t attend sent donations as well.  Once again, MBYC has shown that we are not only the “Fun Club” but very generous as well. Toys for Tots in our area gathers over 25,000 toys each year to be distributed among over 7000 Collier County underprivileged children.  The program also donates toys through other Collier County agencies for needy, abused children and women.
Hideaway Beach Club was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the chefs did a wonderful job with the buffet which consisted of a salad station with several salads and a round of delicious brie en croute,  a beef and turkey carving station with all the accoutrements, a “made to order” pasta station offering 2 pastas with your choice of shrimp, chicken, veggies and 2 sauces and a dessert table that had something for everyone, more than one something for most.  Hideaway’s wait staff did a great job, as they always do, keeping our drinks filled and our tables cleared.
Dan Vass entertained us with his magnificent music and song of all kinds for dancing and listening.  The one marine whose significant other could not join us did not lack for dancing partners.
