COMMODORE’S MESSAGE
|
|
This is my first message as Commodore for the Baylines. I am very proud to be serving as your commodore for the year 2010. We are looking forward to a full year of boating and social events, and for just the ladies, a full year of first mates’ events. They all take a lot of work to plan. Please check the club calendar for the functions that are happening this month and make an effort to attend some of them. The calendar is in the Baylines and on our website. Charlie Skillern is keeping everything up to date.
I would like to thank Sue Anzalone and Betty Barter for the fine job they did on the Commodores Ball for Past Commodore Joe Doggett and First Mate Sharon.
I am really pleased with the volunteerism that the members of this club have demonstrated for me; without all your help, I would be in real trouble. This should be a really fun year.
We still need to keep our club growing, so I encourage you to search for new members to sponsor. Remember as sponsors that you should get the new members involved in the club. A good way to start is to bring them to our Monday Madness on the last Monday of the month at the Old Marco Lodge Crab House in Goodland. We had a large group at our January Monday Madness; it’s another fun evening for everyone.
For the Presentation of the Fleet, if the weather holds, we will have a good showing of boats plus 108 attending, including members and guests, for lunch at C J’s on the Bay. I’m sure that everyone will enjoy. . Thanks.
Your Commodore, Bill Horton |
