FLEET CAPTAIN’S REPORT Hello Boaters!
We had a successful Captain’s Fleet Auction on February 27th with more than 55 members in attendance. Thanks to Bob (“Hot Stuff”) Burns, Bob (“The Vrooooom”) Vroman, and Joe (“The Enforcer”) Anzalone for assisting the sometimes off-course auctioneer! Betty Barter and Cea Horton did a great job of tracking the high finances, and the Club will be able to increase its level of support to the three Marco service organizations next year. Everyone participated in the bidding ; the winners of the Prop Award for the most purchased was the team of Dan and Barbara La Croix with close seconds by the Kuhns and Bayleys. Thanks to the following for their donations: A-1 Fuel Service, Bob and Sharon Burns, Hoots Restaurant, J&J Detailing, Marco Canvas and Upholstery, Marco Marine Construction, Marco River Marina, Professional Dry Cleaners of Marco, Sand Bar Restaurant, Sunshine Ace Hardware of Marco, West Marine of Marco and rare and exotic nautical items donated by Club Members.
We have twelve Club boats heading north for the Sarasota, Marina Jack’s Marina cruise with overnight stops planned for Useppa Island Club and Tarpon Point Marina. Many thanks to Ginny Rapp for planning this trip; we will have an article on this trip in the May Baylines.
Please get your Vessel Safety Inspection performed in order to participate in Club boating events and have fun on the water.
