June Commodore’s Message

Summer isn’t here yet but it sure feels like it. Last month the only trip the club had was to Naples.  John Putman organized this cruise and three other boats took part.

Our club now has a first aid kit and defibrillator to take on club events and cruises. We are all getting to the age that it might come in handy. Thanks go to Skip Merriam for getting us a big discount on both.  I especially want to commend Ginny Rapp for taking the initiative to pursue this; she has also taken all of the Red Cross classes and is a certified instructor. She will be giving classes for club members next fall.

Thanks to Sue Anzaolone and Ginny Vroman we have our Dine Around on again for this summer. There is more information in the Baylines on this.

In July the only trip planned is to Fort Myers for the fireworks on the 4th of July. Joe Anzaolone and Bob Vroman are heading this cruise up.

We had our first Monday Madness at CJ’s this month.  We will continue with CJ’s for the rest of the summer season, so for all you locals, mark you calendars for the last Monday of the month. We had a good turnout with 43 people and about 20 stayed for dinner.

The nomination committee is already working on the new bridge and board members for 2011. In the fall when everything starts to roll, we need to get busy for the Christmas boat and street parades. We’re looking for a couple of captains to volunteer their boats for the parade and a captain to volunteer his or her boat for the street parade. This year there will be two sign-up sheets for volunteers, one to decorate and one to remove the decorations and return them to our mini storage

This is the last Baylines until the September issue, so again have a great summer and hope to see everyone in the fall.
