                            Fleet Captain’s Report

Hi Boaters,

Our trip to Naples City Dock  Jan. 8 -10 was great. We ended up with nine boats:  Rising’s, Cook’s, Burn’s, Herrin’s, Odenbach’s, Ferry’s, Gady’s, Anzalone’s and Vroman’s. We did a late lunch for about 20 at The Dock . Dinner the second night was at Bleu Provence (a neat little place near city dock). Many of us had breakfast one day at the Cove Inn.,  The final event was  lunch for 60  (20 boaters and about 40 who drove up) at The Boat House.  All the restaurants and lots of shopping  (5th & 3rd Ave.) were within walking distance.

There is plenty of MBYC boating ahead so mark these events on your calendar.

February 19th to 22nd   Edison Festival of Lights.  Dave Besuden is planning a repeat trip to Fort Myers for the Annual Festival of Lights.  Please sign up early for this event so Dave can book slips and event tickets for this popular Festival. He Has lined up a great place to stay and a great venue.

March 19th to 22nd   Cruise to South Seas Marina on Captiva.  We are repeating our visit to this popular marina location.  This is an easy trip to a great location, so there is no excuse for not joining us for this one.  We have plenty of dock space for everyone who wants to go, but we have very limited hotel space so please book early.  All of the details, including a sign-up sheet, are inside this issue of the Baylines.

March 28th  Wild Goose Chase.  The ever-popular Wild Goose Chase will be on March 28th so plan to participate.  Remember, the only rule is to win!  Details of this event will be coming soon!

April 4th  Annual Boating Picnic.  Please mark this date on your calendar and pray for both calm seas and NO WIND.  The Past Commodore will be planning this event so plan to pack your folding chairs and bring your appetite.  A sign-up sheet will appear in a future issue of the Baylines.

April 5th to 8th   Cruise to Key West With option for April 9th stop at Little Palm Island.

Please call or e-mail me if you have interest in this cruise so that slips can be reserved.

April 12th  Easter Sunrise Service in front of the Marriott

April 24th to 26th  Cruise to Port of the Islands.  Everyone enjoyed this short cruise last year so we are returning this year and including Final Friday with this cruise on the 24th at Port of the Islands.  John Putnam will be planning this cruise.

May 8th to 10th   Cruise to Pelican Isle.  We are repeating this cruise again this year. Saturday night of this cruise we will have entertainment. John Putnam will also be in charge of this cruise.

May 12th  Dinner Trip to Bonefish Grill at Naples Bay. We will have plenty of daylight at this time of year so plan on boating up.

If you have any questions about any of these activities,  just give me a call or send an e-mail.
